Article and Paragraph planning

Article Planning Sheet

Plan the language use of the primary code of your article in the box below.

Planning Comments
Type of article
(list, interview, editorial, countdown, real life story)
In my DPS I’m going to use a combination of editorial giving the reader how they can protect themselves and how to proven identity theft and countdown of the top 10 ten way how identity theft actually happens in break out boxes.
Introductory paragraph
In my introductory paragraph I am going to warn the reader of what is happening in this epidemic and asking them if they aware what is actually going on behind closed doors of hackers to get them hooked into the story
Narrative voice
(1st, 2nd or 3rd person)

Why?
During my DPS I’m going to use all three of the options, for first paragraph I’m going to address the reader in second person to get them hooked into the story, for first person I’m going to give someone at brief to what can happen if you are a victim so this will help to break the article up giving the reader something different to read and in third person I’m going to use in my break out boxes to show the reader what they should and shouldn’t do when it comes to identity theft.
Register
(Informal/formal, colloquial, dialect, taboo words?)
For my DPS I am going to use informal as the reader of the most popular magazine in my questionnaire was a lad’s mag and a music mag so I want to the article to appeal to a young male audience so by using informal language it will appeal more, also by using mild taboo (words such as shit and twat) it will help to appeal to the target audience.
Semantic Field
Suggest words associated with this field
In my article for semantic field I’m going to use crime so I can link it with the actual topic;
  • Police phrase (arrested)
  • About the crime (steal, theft)
  • Criminal (steal)
  • Acts of crime (identity theft)
Tone of address
(hectoring, sarcastic, ‘matey’, ironic, etc)
Like what magazine?
For my DPS I’m going to use banter as it is a lad’s magazine as if the magazine is talking to the lads at the pub, so in a way it’s going to be ‘matey’. If you were going to tell your friends how your day had been like you just want to have a good laugh
Length of article

Length of each paragraph
The length of my article is going to be 8 paragraphs in editorial.
Then I’m going to use two break out boxes in the first one it is going to be a count down from 10 to 6 then in the second break out box it will be the top 5. Each paragraph will consist of no more than 150 words as each one of my paragraph is; who, what, where, when, why and how.

What key points are you going to include in each paragraph.
